This is not alarmist talk; in the future, everyone will be able to open a crypto exchange!
OKX just officially announced a protocol called Exchange OS. Simply put: from now on, anyone can open their own exchange without having to beg centralized platforms for approval.
What does this mean? Previously, if you wanted to create a trading market, you either had to honestly integrate with giants like Binance or OKX, or build your own matching, clearing, and risk control system from scratch, which would cost tens of millions and still be hard to operate. Now OKX is directly opening up its institutional-grade core infrastructure. As long as you stake OKB on the X Layer, you can deploy your own exchange without permission.
And the options aren’t limited to just spot trading; you can choose from three market types:

What’s the coolest part? All markets built on Exchange OS run on the same engine as the OKX main site—millisecond-level matching and 300,000 TPS throughput, with performance maxed out. In plain terms: your small market enjoys a top-tier engine.
Even better for traders: unified accounts and unified margin. Your funds can be seamlessly used across spot, contracts, and prediction markets without having to move assets back and forth across a dozen platforms like before.
