AI just drew a clear line in the market.
Dell ($DELL) delivered a monster quarter: revenue hit $43.8B (+26%), EPS crushed expectations by 69%, and AI server revenue exploded 757% YoY to $16.1B. Its AI backlog now stands at a record $51.3B, with full-year AI server guidance raised to $60B.
Meanwhile, Costco ($COST) showed a different story. Revenue slightly beat estimates, but same-store sales growth missed expectations, signaling consumer demand may be slowing.
The message is simple: capital is rotating toward AI infrastructure while consumer spending faces increasing pressure.
If Dell’s backlog converts into revenue, the next beneficiaries could be AI supply-chain leaders including $NVDA and $MRVL. If consumer weakness persists, markets may continue rewarding AI growth over traditional retail.
The AI trade isn’t cooling down. It’s accelerating.
